Donation Policy
This policy explains how donations made to Divyashakti Bhagwat Welfare Foundation are accepted, processed, acknowledged, recorded, and handled through the Foundation's official donation channels.
DIVYASHAKTI BHAGWAT WELFARE FOUNDATION is a Section 8 non-profit company. Donations received through its official channels are intended to support the Foundation's charitable and welfare purposes, programmes, activities, administration, and other lawful objectives consistent with its governing documents and applicable requirements.
1. Acceptance of Donations
The Foundation may accept donations through payment methods and channels made available on its official website or communicated through its authorized representatives.
The Foundation reserves the right to decline or return a donation where required for legal, regulatory, banking, payment-processing, compliance, verification, operational, or other legitimate reasons.
2. Donation Amount and Purpose
Donors may be able to select a suggested amount, enter an eligible custom amount, and, where offered, indicate a preferred purpose or programme area.
A stated purpose is treated as a donor preference unless a written arrangement specifically provides otherwise. The Foundation may apply funds to the most appropriate lawful activity when the selected purpose is unavailable, has been completed, has insufficient operational need, or cannot reasonably receive the contribution.
3. Payment Processing
Online donations may be processed through a third-party payment gateway or other authorized payment service. Payment details may therefore be handled by the relevant payment service according to its own terms, privacy practices, and security controls.
A donor should rely on the final confirmation generated by the Foundation's authorized payment and server-side systems rather than treating a browser message, interrupted session, or incomplete payment screen as proof that a donation was successfully received.
4. Donation Confirmation and Receipt
For successful donations, the Foundation may generate a transaction or donation reference and provide an electronic acknowledgement or receipt using the contact information supplied by the donor.
Receipt availability, format, tax treatment, and supporting information may depend on the donation method and the Foundation's applicable legal, accounting, and statutory requirements.
5. Refund and Cancellation Requests
Donations are intended to be voluntary contributions. Because processing and accounting circumstances may differ, a refund is not automatically guaranteed merely because a donor changes their mind after a successful transaction.
A donor who believes a donation was made in error, duplicated, unauthorized, incorrectly charged, or otherwise requires review should contact the Foundation as soon as reasonably possible and provide the relevant donation or transaction reference, date, amount, and contact information.
Any refund or reversal will be considered subject to the payment method, transaction status, banking or gateway rules, applicable law, and the Foundation's internal review and accounting requirements.
6. Failed, Pending or Reversed Transactions
A payment may appear successful to a donor while remaining pending, being declined, timing out, or later being reversed by the payment processor or bank. The Foundation will treat the transaction according to the verified status received through its authorized payment and server-side systems.
Where necessary, the Foundation may contact the donor or payment provider to reconcile an uncertain transaction.
7. Donor Information
The Foundation may collect information reasonably required to process, acknowledge, reconcile, record, communicate about, or administer a donation. This can include donor name, contact details, transaction information, and information required for applicable accounting or compliance purposes.
Payment card, banking, or other sensitive payment credentials should be entered only through the authorized payment interface. The Foundation does not ask donors to disclose payment passwords, PINs, one-time passwords, CVV values, or similar authentication credentials by email, telephone, or website contact forms.
8. Donor Privacy
Personal information associated with donations is handled according to the Foundation's Privacy Policy and the requirements applicable to the systems and services actually used by the Foundation.
Donation information may be shared with authorized service providers, banks, payment processors, accountants, auditors, professional advisers, or authorities where necessary for processing, reconciliation, compliance, legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate administration.
9. Use of Donations
Donations may be used for charitable programmes, welfare activities, project implementation, community initiatives, education, health, environment, administration, technology, compliance, fundraising, and other lawful activities of the Foundation.
The Foundation may incur reasonable administrative, payment-processing, compliance, programme-management, and operational costs in carrying out its activities, subject to applicable requirements and its internal financial controls.
10. Tax Benefits and Donor Claims
A donation receipt or acknowledgement does not by itself guarantee that a donor is entitled to a tax deduction, exemption, benefit, certificate, or other statutory treatment.
Any tax benefit depends on the Foundation's eligibility under the applicable law, the nature of the donation, required registrations or approvals, the donor's circumstances, and the requirements imposed by the relevant authority. Donors should obtain independent tax advice where necessary.
11. Anonymous Donations
Where the available donation method permits, a donor may be able to request limited public anonymity. This does not necessarily prevent the Foundation, payment processor, bank, auditor, or competent authority from retaining or accessing information required for transaction processing, accounting, compliance, fraud prevention, or legal purposes.
12. Recurring Donations
Where recurring contributions are enabled, the applicable payment provider's mandate, authorization, cancellation, retry, and debit rules will also apply. A donor remains responsible for reviewing the recurring-payment authorization presented during the payment process.
The Foundation may suspend or discontinue a recurring donation arrangement where the payment provider, bank, donor instruction, compliance requirement, or operational circumstances require it.
13. Fraud, Misuse and Unauthorized Transactions
The Foundation may investigate donations or payment activity that appears fraudulent, unauthorized, suspicious, misleading, abusive, or inconsistent with applicable requirements. Where appropriate, transactions may be delayed, declined, reversed, reported, or referred to the relevant service provider or authority.
14. Donation Data and Records
Donation records may be retained for accounting, audit, reporting, statutory, compliance, reconciliation, security, dispute resolution, and organizational record-keeping purposes. Retention periods will depend on the type of record and the requirements applicable to the Foundation and its service providers.
15. Third-Party Payment Services
When a third-party payment service is used, that service may have separate terms, privacy notices, processing rules, fees, limits, downtime, or verification requirements. The Foundation does not control the internal systems of independent third-party service providers.
16. Changes to This Donation Policy
The Foundation may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in its donation systems, payment methods, operations, accounting procedures, legal requirements, or internal controls. The latest version published on this page will apply from its stated effective date.
